The children in Year 1 celebrated World Book Day today with a visit to Hedge End Sainsbury's dressed as their favourite book character to meet 'Mr Maker' from CBBC. All of the children had a thoroughly fantastic time, including one of our VI pupils, who is reg. blind. Part of providing an inclusive education is ensuring that our VI pupils have full and equal access to all parts of the curriculum, whether in the class room or not!
All the children made special book marks for World Book Day with words of encouragement from Mr Maker as he met each and every child.
It was a busy and full afternoon and this pupil really enjoyed the whole experience of going out with his friends to have a snack and meet a celebrity!
Thank You to Mr Maker and his team, Sainsbury's and their staff who were so welcoming, and to our parent helpers, who were brilliant!
Mr Cownie, it's Mister Maker! Mrs Spurr
