This week the children were treated to a day out at Paulton's Park by the Basingstoke Rotary Club. Through links with our sister resource at Great Binfields were were invited to take part in the Rotary Club's 'KidsOut' day. For the children this provided a brilliant chance not only to go on all the rides on offer, but also to socialise and cooperate within their VI group.
We were welcomed by Rotary clowns with sweets!
We were accompanied by Mr Hayman, so he could spend a day with the staff and children of the Oasis.
To start we stayed together as a group and all went on the Astroglide!
Then we split to allow the older and more adventurous children the chance to go on the bigger rides.
Unfotunately this did mean waiting in queues, but the children and staff did not mind as they then got to do this....
Paulton's was perfect in providing bigger rides and also smaller more gentle rides.
There was a great deal of interest in Peppa Pig land.
Grandpa's train
Peppa's balloon ride.
All of the children (and some of the staff) challenged themselves to go on exciting rides.
There were some children only rides...much to Mr Hayman's disappointment!
But it was ok because he did get to go on the log flume!
All children were accompanied...some close and some afar.
The children loved the tactile sensation of the floating globe as well as the cool water.
More traditional fun fair rides were also very popular.
However there is nothing like bouncing under your own power!!
We were blessed with fine weather for our visit, some lovely sunshine but not too hot.
We had a fantastic day which all the children gained from.
Thank You Rotary Club....it was a brilliant experience and hopefully we can join in next year!
Wow what an amazing day out, looks like the teachers had just as much fun as the children.
